UK Digital Marketing

Digital Marketing Services in the UK

The mechanics of local search are the same in every UK town. The competition never is — and that is the part that decides your budget.

What you can expect

  • Same method everywhere, budget set by the market

  • London-based, working across the UK

  • Four town pages, each one written from scratch

What travels between UK markets, and what does not

The mechanical half of local search does not vary by postcode. A Google Business Profile with the right primary category, accurate service areas, real photographs and answered reviews outperforms one without, whether the business is in Wigan or Woking. Site speed, crawlable pages, sensible internal linking, tracked calls and forms — none of that is regional. If an agency's proposal for your town looks different from its proposal for the next one on the mechanics, something is being invented.

What does vary, and varies enormously, is the competitive shape you are dropping that work into. How many businesses in your category sit within travelling distance. Whether the searches in your market are dominated by a bigger place name nearby, a landmark, or an aggregator. Whether your customers arrive by proximity or by choice. Two identical plumbing firms sixty miles apart can need budgets that differ by a multiple, doing exactly the same list of tasks. That is why a quote given before anybody has looked at your search results is a guess with a decimal point on it.

Our own coverage is deliberately narrow. We are a London studio, and this site carries full local pages for four towns — Ealing, Southall and Hounslow in West London, and Salford in Greater Manchester — because those are the four we can write about without padding. Work outside them is welcome and handled remotely; it just does not get a landing page pretending otherwise. A directory of towns nobody has researched is easy to build and does the site more harm than the missing pages ever would.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with businesses outside London and Manchester?

Yes. The absence of a page for your town is an editorial decision about this website, not a limit on who we take on — everything except physical presence is delivered the same way wherever you are. If your market turns out to have something genuinely distinctive about it, that tends to become a page eventually.

Why do so few of your location pages exist compared to other agencies?

Because most agency location pages are the same page with the town name changed, and search engines have been explicit that scaled pages of that kind are a quality problem rather than a shortcut. We publish one when we have researched the place properly and can put three or four things on it that could not appear anywhere else.

Can a UK business run SEO and Google Ads at the same time?

Usually yes, and the sensible split is by timeline. Paid search covers the months before organic work lands, and covers the terms you are unlikely to win organically at all. Organic work then takes over the demand you can own, so the ad spend can narrow rather than grow. If both are running against the same keyword indefinitely, one of them is being wasted.
