Service focus

Content that helps customers understand your value

The hardest part of writing for a business is not the writing. It is finding out what the business actually knows. Every company has three or four things it can say that a competitor could not — the objection that comes up in every quote, the reason the cheap option fails, the thing customers always get wrong about the process — and almost none of it is on the website, because to the people who deal with it daily it does not feel like information. So we start with questions rather than a keyword list, and the answers become the pages.

The alternative is the writing everybody recognises: paragraphs that describe a service in terms that would fit any supplier of it, arranged around phrases somebody wanted to rank for. It is not a style problem, it is an information problem, and no amount of rewriting fixes a page that has nothing in it. Search engines have become explicit that content produced primarily for rankings rather than for people is a quality liability, and readers reached the same conclusion long before the guidance did.

Practically, that means we would rather publish fewer pages with something on them. A service page that names the process, the constraints, what you do not do and what it costs to get wrong will outperform six pages of variations on the service name — and it is easier to keep accurate. Where existing copy is close, we edit rather than replace, because pages that already rank are worth more than a clean slate.

Common challenges

Problems we help solve

01

Thin service copy

Pages describe the service without explaining the process, the constraints, the proof or the next step — so the reader finishes no better informed than they started and goes back to the results.

02

No content plan

Topics chosen one at a time rarely accumulate. A plan built around the questions a customer asks in sequence, from first curiosity to ready to buy, gives each piece something to link to and a job to do.

03

Unclear messaging

Customers need to know who you help, what you do, and why it matters — in that order, in the first screen. Copy that opens with company history makes the reader do the sorting, and most will not.

Service breakdown

What is included

Website copy

Service, landing and key business pages, written from what you tell us about the work rather than from what competitors have already published.

SEO content planning

Topics and briefs shaped around real search intent, including the searches worth ignoring because they never convert in your market.

Local content

Location copy built on genuine local detail. Where there is nothing specific to say about a place, we recommend not publishing the page rather than padding it.

Social content

Post ideas and messaging that reuse the thinking already done for the site, so the channel does not need its own separate invention every week.

Campaign copy

Messaging for offers, ads and landing pages, with the promise in the ad and the promise on the page actually matching.

Content refresh

Improve what exists for clarity, accuracy and conversion — usually cheaper and safer than replacing pages that already earn traffic.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you write SEO content for service pages?

Yes, and the useful version of that job starts with an interview rather than a keyword tool. Twenty minutes describing how the work actually runs — what goes wrong, what customers ask, what you refuse to do — produces more usable material than a week of research, because it is the part nobody else can copy.

Do you use AI to write the content?

For drafting and structure, yes; for the substance, no. A model can arrange what it is given and cannot supply what you know, so anything specific about your business comes from you and gets checked by a person before it is published. Content assembled entirely from what a model already knows reads exactly like content assembled from what a model already knows.

How much content does a small business actually need?

Usually far less than it has been sold. A clear page per service you genuinely want enquiries for, a page per location where you have something real to say, and answers to the questions you get asked repeatedly. Beyond that, publishing volume for its own sake spreads authority thinner and gives you more pages to keep accurate.

Will you rewrite pages that are already ranking?

Cautiously, and rarely from scratch. A page with existing visibility has earned something we cannot see the whole of, so the safer route is targeted editing — clearer opening, better structure, the missing proof — with the changes noted so any movement can be traced back to what caused it.
